Privacy Statement
This statement explains what personal data this website collects, why, on what lawful basis, how long it is kept, who else sees it and how to have it corrected or removed.

Who is responsible
The data controller is KickStartKenyaFootball, at the address published at the foot of this page, and the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019 applies to it. Any Kenyan registration we hold — including registration with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner — is published with its number and date on our governance page; where nothing is published there, nothing is held. This statement, our terms and our position on incentives have been reviewed by professional advisers, which does not make this page legal advice to you. Any privacy request should be sent to the submissions and media address below and will be answered within one month.
What is collected
Four things. An email address, if you ask for the football development brief, a land alert or a one-page sheet. The contents of any form you choose to send us — a preliminary opportunity submission, an enquiry, a county funding scenario, a correction or an information submission — together with the name, email, telephone, organisation and county you put in it. Anonymous, aggregated page and link counts, used to understand which sections are read. And, where you ask for a document by email, the reference and address needed to send it.
What is deliberately not collected
We do not collect, and ask you not to send, a National ID number, a passport number, a copy of any identity document, a KRA PIN or PIN certificate, a CR12, bank or M-Pesa details, a payment method, title documents or signatures. There is no upload on this site. We hold no special category data, we run no advertising trackers or third-party profiling cookies, we buy no contact lists, and we do not ask for the personal details of children — any submission about a young player should come from a parent, guardian or club with authority to send it.
Purposes and lawful bases
Consent, for the brief, ranking alerts, county land alerts and marketing — each consented to separately, never pre-ticked, never bundled with anything else, and withdrawable at any time. In particular, asking for the one-page idle-acre sheet does not subscribe you to county land alerts: that is a separate box you tick or leave, and the sheet is emailed either way. Legitimate interest, for replying to a submission or enquiry, carrying out an initial non-professional information review, verifying what we are told and keeping an accurate record of where published information came from. We do not forward submissions to professionals or any third party. We do not make automated decisions about you; an AI pass helps a person sort and score submissions, and it publishes nothing.
Who else sees it
Nobody. Your submission is not forwarded to an estate agent, a valuer, an advocate or any other professional or third party — if you need regulated work, you appoint a licensed professional yourself, directly, from the published register. Our email delivery provider sends the brief and notifications, and our hosting provider necessarily processes traffic to this site. Nothing is sold, rented or shared for marketing.
International transfers
This site and its database are hosted outside Kenya, so personal data concerning people in Kenya is transferred out of Kenya to be stored. We rely on your consent and on contractual protections with our hosting and email providers, and we are taking Kenyan advice on the appropriate safeguards under sections 48 and 49 of the Data Protection Act 2019.
Publication
Where you submit football information we may publish the verified fact, never your contact details. Sites and opportunities mentioned to us appear only as a county-level pin: no name, no plot reference, nothing that could identify an owner or expose land to unwanted attention. If you ask to be credited as a source that is recorded and honoured; if you ask to stay anonymous, your identity stays in the private record only.
Security
Access to submissions is limited to the small number of people who administer the platform, over authenticated accounts. Because we do not collect identity, tax or banking data, the most damaging categories of personal data simply are not here to lose. If any document is ever legally required, it will be requested through a secure, access-controlled process with a stated purpose, a defined retention period, access logging, encryption and deletion controls — never as an attachment to a shared inbox.
How long it is kept
Email addresses until you unsubscribe. Preliminary submissions and enquiries for as long as the matter is live and then for two years as a record of the decision, after which they are deleted. Consent records for as long as we rely on them, plus two years. Source records supporting a published fact are kept permanently, because a published fact without its provenance is worthless.
Cookies and analytics
We use only what is needed to run the site and count pages and links in aggregate. No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, no profiling. Anonymous page counting can be switched off at any time from Cookie settings at the foot of every page, and your choice is kept on your own device — we do not record who accepted or declined, because that would mean holding data about a visitor who has given us none.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of what we hold, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, object to our holding it, ask us to restrict it, or withdraw any consent. Write to the address below. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner in Nairobi, and doing so costs you nothing.
The entity behind this platform
KickStartKenyaFootball is an independent football research, heritage, development and opportunity-discovery platform, run from Nairobi. It is not the governing body of football in Kenya.

KickStartKenyaFootball is based in Nairobi and Kenyan law applies to it. Where a Kenyan company is registered to carry the work, it is published on the governance page with its number and the date it was registered; where nothing is published there, nothing is held.
KickStartKenyaFootball performs no work requiring a Kenyan licence, registration or practising certificate that it does not hold. Any Kenyan registration held is published on this page with its number and the date it was granted; none is recorded here at present. Estate agency, valuation, legal advice, survey, planning, design, costing, construction, environmental assessment, investment advice, handling money, insurance, recruitment and player representation are referred to an independent professional or business holding the required Kenyan registration, licence or approval.
These pages and any dealings with KickStartKenyaFootball are governed by Kenyan law. A dispute that cannot be settled between us goes to arbitration seated in Nairobi under the Arbitration Act 1995, administered by the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration, before a single arbitrator, in English. That does not remove your statutory or consumer rights, and it does not stop either of us using the small claims court where the claim belongs there.
